Six people who came to me with a job, a skill and no idea how to sell it. Where each of them started, where they got to, and what they said about it afterwards, in their own words.
Every number on this page came from the person it belongs to, on a call, in a video or in their own post. Nothing is a composite, and nobody is here without having said yes.
Simon Witten
Hiring and leadership expert · January to July 2026
Where he started
174 followers on Threads in January, posting 3 to 5 times a day and getting his best traction from snarky posts about bad managers. The plan was to write a book first and find an audience for it later. The blocker was time: "I think I'm busier when I'm not working than when I'm working."
Where he got to
We flipped the order: audience first, then the thing to sell it. One conversation about direction took him from 170 to over 15,000 followers in four weeks. By April it was around 10,000 followers and 4.3 million views. By the end of July, 115,000 followers. He now runs his own programme for hiring managers.
"Joining Josh's Writing OS and working directly with him through his coaching has been one of the highest leverage decisions I've made this year. I don't recommend many things. But I have no hesitation recommending Josh."Simon, in his own newsletter, June 2026
Marc Crossfield
Engineering director, father of two · February to March 2026
Where he started
Six to 8 months all in on TikTok, close to burnt out, with 30 to 35 leads to show for it and his attention scattered across platforms and tools. His words: "I just went too hard, too fast, too soon." We set one goal on the first call: a paying customer, without leaving his family to the side to get it.
Where he got to
One platform, one product, one audience. First paid seat sold by the third session. In the final week: £150 of revenue, 3 workshop seats, £100 of consulting, a live email list and his following doubled. He called it validated. By August he had signed his first paying coaching client and his list had passed 400.
"We set one major goal before we started coaching. That one goal was to secure my first sale. Pleased to say this week, £150 of revenue, 3 workshops sold."Marc, on video, March 2026
Danielle Mitchell
Business coach for therapists · March to May 2026
Where she started
Burnt out from affiliate marketing, with around 1,000 followers built on content she no longer wanted to make. A new business she was keeping under wraps, a full course built before a single person had paid for it, and a strong dislike of anything that felt salesy.
Where she got to
Four sessions. A proven lead magnet, a complete coaching framework, a masterclass launched and a high-ticket client booked with a deposit paid. Two clients signed within three months, on her way to out-earning her previous nine months.
"I've gone from zero to a complete full coaching system and I've just signed two clients. I'm about to make more money than I have done in the past nine months of digital marketing."Danielle, on video, May 2026
Ali
Six-figure business owner · February to March 2026
Where he started
Over 20,000 followers and an email list in the thousands that had produced, in his words, "absolutely zero dollars". He had decided his audience couldn't afford him and was on the verge of quitting Threads altogether.
Where he got to
The audience was fine. The positioning wasn't. We put him in the story as a real person, re-aimed the account at professionals and business owners with money to spend, and built a simple system: a product ladder and a five-email sequence. The result was a sale from exactly the audience he wanted, and a 90-day plan he left with.
"We built a simple system, which resulted in me getting a sale from the exact target audience that I wanted. I paid $800 for this, but honestly I feel like it's worth $2,000."Ali, on video, March 2026
Chris Scott
HR leader, 15 years, Atlanta · June to August 2026
Where he started
A product ladder already built, from a free download to a coaching package, and one sale. What he didn't have was a position: a method leaning on generic language, an audience caught between job seekers and purpose seekers, and a self-image as a rule follower. Around 650 followers in July.
Where he got to
One named person to write for, a method with his name on it (the Permission Matrix), and a content engine built on 15 years of stories he had never used. A post that reached 200,000 people at the end of July. Three clients into his first programme by August, his first newsletter as a coach, his Threads audience tripled, and a destination he can say out loud: a life that feels like yours again, without blowing it up.
"I've tripled my Threads audience. I have more and more people on my email list, more and more people buying my product. The flywheel that he has helped me create is spinning. I plan on being his first repeat customer."Chris, on video, August 2026
Marcus
Portfolio career expert, dad of two · The writing sprint, 2025
Where he started
Long-form writing only, around a full-time job and two children. Not two hours a day for content. Some days, 10 minutes.
Where he got to
One short-form post, written the way the sprint teaches, brought in 800 followers and 60 downloads of his lead magnet. On 10 minutes a day.
"I'm a dad with two kids and a full-time 9 to 5. I don't have two hours a day to spend on content. Sometimes I've only got 10 minutes."Marcus, on video

I've just completed an 8 week coaching programme with @joshuatlindsey. The goal was simple: 1 paying customer. Since then we've:
Biggest lesson? You don't need more ideas, you need structure.

Bill Streger
Writer · The writing sprint
It delivered everything he said it would: a system for writing and growing your account, templates for posts that work, and exercises to help you find your particular voice and message. But more than anything else, it helped change my thinking. It's ok to be yourself. YOU are the niche.
The sprint was a game changer for me, and I refer back to what I learned inside of it every single day.

I've been on Threads for 2 years and have rarely seen anybody grow as quickly as Joshua does. He understands growth deeply and I've personally taken some of his templates, made them work for me and brought me a lot of new followers. I recommend his product to everybody who is looking to grow their presence online.
